Clay on Country

Vanhees M_Random Thoughts 2

Venue: Araluen Art Gallery, Araluen Cultural Precinct, 61 Larapinta Dr, Araluen
Opening 5-7pm Tuesday 19th July 2022

Clay on Country showcases the work of over 30 artists living and working in Central Australia including those living in Mparntwe as well as those working out of studios based at the end of long corrugated desert roads throughout the Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

A diverse and eclectic survey, works in Clay on Country reflect the rich complexities of Ancestral stories, lived experiences and settler histories, alongside the joys and challenges of making with clay, the stuff of country itself. The exhibition is the first survey of its kind, developed by Artback NT to coincide with the 16th Australian Ceramics Triennale.
